Despite this, Groundies' shoes live up to the four characteristics of barefoot shoes that we recognize; they are flat, flexible, foot shaped and have no heel drop. Groundies put a lot of emphasis on their TrueSense sole, which makes these features possible. As the name suggests, Groundies believe that the close contact with the surface 'grounds' you and increases your physical and mental well-being in your everyday life.

Groundies originated in Germany but are now sold in many countries. And one of the other points where Groundies stands out is their focus on sustainable production in Europe (mainly Spain and Portugal). They focus on production with sustainable, recyclable and durable materials. Among other things, they guarantee 3 years of durability on their TrueSense sole. In addition, they have a strong focus on sustainable conditions for all parties in the supply chain. They make a virtue of making their activities more and more sustainable, and see this as a continuous process. Production is CO2-neutral via CO2 compensation.
